My Journey Into Holistic Health

My interest in health and the human body started long before it became my career.

Even as a teenager, I was fascinated by the connection between our health, the food and nutrients we put into our bodies, and the environment we live in. I wanted to understand why our bodies respond the way they do and how the choices and exposures in our everyday lives can influence our health over time.

Although my career initially took me in a different direction and I became a teacher, my interest in health never went away.

Eventually, health challenges within my own family, including my own health and the health of one of my children, made that interest deeply personal. I found myself searching for answers, asking questions, and exploring approaches that went far beyond what I had previously understood about health.

Those experiences changed the direction of my life. They ultimately led me back to school to pursue the work I had been drawn to for years and shaped much of the way I approach health today.

Today, that curiosity has become something much bigger. I am constantly learning, researching, and exploring the human body and its biochemistry. The deeper I go, the more interested I become in understanding how our systems interact, why certain patterns develop, and why two people experiencing similar symptoms may need completely different support.

This work has become far more than a career for me. Understanding the human body, connecting the pieces, and continuing to learn is genuinely one of my greatest passions.

Looking at the Whole Person

One of the things I have learned through both my education and years of working with clients is that the body cannot be separated into individual parts.

Everything affects everything else.

Our nutritional status affects our nervous system. Our nervous system affects digestion and hormones. Our mineral status affects energy, stress response, thyroid function, blood sugar regulation, and detoxification.

But I also believe health extends beyond the physical body.

Our emotional health, subconscious beliefs, past experiences, energetic patterns, and even our resistance to healing can influence the way we experience health and the way our bodies respond.

This is why my approach has never fit neatly into one box.

I want to understand the physical pieces, but I also want to understand the person experiencing them.

My Education and Training

My education has allowed me to study health from several different perspectives rather than through one single modality.

I completed my diploma in Orthomolecular Medicine through an accredited naturopathic college and am also a Registered

Holistic Nutritionist (RHN).

My training and continued education have included areas such as:

Orthomolecular medicine and nutritional supplementation

Holistic and therapeutic nutrition

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)

Biofeedback / bioresonance

Functional neurology

Energetics and energetic approaches to health - Body Talk and CLI

Detoxification and environmental burden

Mineral balancing and individualized nutritional therapy

The relationship between emotional and subconscious patterns and physical health

These different areas of study allow me to look at a client's case through multiple lenses rather than relying on one test, one philosophy, or one way of thinking.

And my education didn't end when I finished school. Continuing to study, learn from other practitioners, explore emerging research, and deepen my understanding of human biochemistry is an ongoing part of my work.

Discovering HTMA Changed My Practice

I introduced Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis into my practice approximately two years ago, and it completely changed the way I look at many of my clients' cases.

I had already spent years looking at nutrition, supplementation, symptoms, biofeedback, and whole-body health. HTMA gave me another piece of the puzzle that I had been missing.

Being able to see mineral patterns, the relationships between minerals, and toxic elements gave me a much deeper understanding of what could be happening underneath the symptoms I was seeing.

Things began connecting differently.

Patterns that had been difficult to explain started making more sense. It gave me another way to understand why two people with very similar symptoms could respond completely differently to the same nutritional support.

Today, HTMA has become one of the foundational tools in my practice.

But it is still only one piece of the person in front of me.

There Is Always More to the Story

I don't believe a test result defines you.

And I don't believe your symptoms are random.

A laboratory result, an HTMA, a biofeedback scan, your health history, your symptoms, your diet, your experiences, and even the way you think and feel about your health can each give us a different piece of information.

I am interested in the connections between those pieces.

Sometimes the most important clue in someone's case is something that seemed completely unrelated.

That is one of my favourite parts of this work: asking questions, looking deeper, finding patterns, and helping someone finally

begin to understand their body in a way they haven't before.

Why This Work Matters to Me

I know what it is like to want answers for yourself and for the people you love.

My own family's experiences are what transformed a lifelong interest in health into something much more personal, and they are still a huge part of why I care so deeply about the work I do today.

I don't take it lightly when someone trusts me with their story or with their child's health.

I want my clients to understand what we are doing and why we are doing it. I want them to learn about their own bodies throughout the process rather than simply being handed a list of things to take.

Most importantly, I want them to feel like someone is actually looking at the whole picture.

Because very often, that is where the pieces finally begin to make sense.
